SEO: acronym for Search Engine Optimization. SEO comprises of techniques which improves visibility of a website in search engines. SEO process can be divided in two 1. On-Site Search Engine Optimization 2. Off-site Search Engine Optimization.

1. On-Site Search Engine Optimization deals with changes to web pages and website on whole. On-site SEO involves keyword research, content creation, layout changes, internal linking, supporting files, etc.
2. Off-site Search Engine Optimization deals with factors that help a website rank due to its other online assets and links hosted by other websites. Off-site SEO mainly focuses on increasing online footprint of a business or website which may include blogging, PR promotions, expert editorials, etc.

Entire SEO process works towards common goal of being found among top organic results for right business terms that a prospect user may search for.
